X Factor 2011 Spoilers: Week 3 theme revealed?
Well we’ve UK VS US and last week’s Love and Heartbreak theme – which frankly we thought was more than a little disappointing and today it has been claimed that The X factor plans to go back in time a little for week three’s episode.
On This Morning today. X Factor correspondent Jeff Brazier revealed that he was at the live show on Saturday and was informed that this Saturday night, the final 11 contestants will be singing songs to fit with a Motown / R&B theme.
The Dancing On Ice star told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby:
I have it on good authority that we’re going to see a bit of Motown R&B.
He also admitted that he thinks the theme will particularly suit Liverpool lad Marcus Collins, adding:
I think that’s going to suit Marcus.
Simon Cowell planned to do a ‘Motwon Week’ on the X Factor back in 2007, but binned the idea and changed it to love songs instead, as he worried that the contestants would all perform ‘old songs’ and claimed that the theme was ‘too narrow’.
We wonder what’s changed since then?
Ray Quinn sang “Ben” on the third series of The X Factor, during Motown week in 2006.
Do you think the contestants will shine with this new theme? What songs would you have them sing? Leave your comments below.

I’ll be nice if someone sings an Alicia Keys song, f.e. you don’t know my name (Marcus would do a good job), or maybe Bill Withers ain’t no sunshine (Sophie??).
Since Misha B already sang r.e.s.p.e.c.t from Aretha, I suppose she’s doing maybe another song from her
The Risk could sing Bills, Bills, Bills (Bitch-slap to Kelly LOL)
What about Janet doing Me and Mr. Jones?
I hope no one sings Superstition, such a boring song….
Anyway.. Just wondering
