X Factor 2011 Week 8 Results: Kelly Rowland refused to choose and Janet Devlin was voted off
Janet Devlin has lost out on a place in the X Factor semi final next week. After Kelly Rowland refused to pick an act to save during the sing off, the young singer was eliminated from the ITV show.
It was revealed just a few minutes ago that Kelly would have a tough week again and would be forced to choose between two of her own acts, after Misha B and Janet found themselves in the bottom two.
She admitted that she felt’ sick’ at the thought and the pair certainly didn’t make it an easy decision.
Janet took to the stage and gave the best performance she has managed in weeks. She took on Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and brought her own style and quirkiness to the track beautifully. She also injected a lot of emotion into the sing and we think, at the end, she knew she had done as good a job as she could.
Second up was Misha B – who had previously performed in the sing off twice before – and she took on Out Here On My Own by Irene Cara. It was an amazing song and if we’re honest, we think Misha gave a better performance than Janet. Her vocals were flawless, and there was a lot of light and shade in her version of the emotional ballad. It really gave us tingles.
Afterwards Louis Walsh saved Misha, saying:
“Judging on last night’s 2 performances and the sing off tonight I am going to pick the person that wants this most. Tonight, the act I am sending home is Janet.”
Tulsia added:
“I am going to base these performances on who has the most potential, who will sell records and sell out arenas. The act I am sending home is Janet.”
At this point, Dermot made it clear that if Kelly refused to choose, Janet would be sent home. She abstained from voting and said:
“I just know how great these two young ladies are, I have watched them grow and seen how hard they worked. Janet I admire you as a musician and I absolutely love you and adore you. Misha you just want it so bad and I can’t make the decision, I love these girls.”
Gary Barlow later admitted that his vote would have made no difference, as he also would have sent Janet home.
Afterwards the teary teenager admitted:
I am obviously very confused. I just can’t wait to get out of the show and just start getting my music out and working on the tour obviously.
Rowland added:
I think Janet Devlin’s audition goes down as being one of the most life stopping amazing performances. She froze everything in time when she auditioned and not only that, Janet will be a recording star. She has such a unique voice and a beautiful gift and everyone needs to keep a lookout for this girl. She’s a star.

I hate that they don’t choose according to the sing-off
Gary said he would of chose Janet. He said 3 weeks ago, that Kitty this is your 3rd time in the bottom 2, your not connecting with the audience that’s a problem. Misha’s 3rd time in the bottom 2 and it doesn’t make a difference. Yes Janet was weakest last night, but for me x factor is about who has the biggest sob story coupled with who shouts the loudest. Unfortunately this wasn’t Janet. I hope Little Mix win now and hope that Amelia doesn’t get into the final all she does is shout.
Janet will be back with an amazing album, signing what she wants, she will be a success!
I feel that the order the Judges vote in is extremely unfair. In the old days the person with two acts in the bottom would go last so they could choose to send it to deadlock or might not have to vote. But now Gary gets an easy job.
I totally called that in another comment a few days ago
I said Janet and Misha, misha should go but Janet will…Yay me
Judges are just ridicolous…This is Misha’s 3rd time in the bottom two..there must be something not ok! And Janet has not been very lucky having Kelly as mentor!
Marcus most likely will win (bleh), but if any of the other 3 acts will, 1 of 2 theories will be put to rest:
1) you can’t win if you’ve been in the bottom 2
2) you can’t win if you’re a group
its fixed that he will clearly
kelly rowland you are a gutless yellow coward its clear you wanted janet off the show or you would have given her the chance to go to deadlock your a disgrace.
The right decision was made. The only problem I had was that Marcus wasn’t in the bottom two along with Janet.

Third Kelly is always favouriting Misha and its unfair

4th place- Misha B
3rd Place- Amelia Lily
2nd Place-Little Mix(Even though they should win)
1st-Marcus
Sing read this line and repeat 1000 times “The Bullying has been denied by all other contestants…it never happened”
I loved Janet’s performance tonight but based on last nights sadly unforgiveable performance the decision was correct.
X factor law CLEARLY states you can’t win if you’ve been in the bottom 2, and you can’t win if your in a girl group.
So looks like Marcus has unfortunately won. It’s foregone conclusion.
It will probably be like this.
If Amelia is last in public vote next week, she will be out, if Misha is last and Amelia 3rd they will have a judges vote like they did in the semi last year to save the act they wanted (Amelia will go then as well)
Then Misha will come 3rd in the final eliminated on the Saturday and on Sunday Little Mix will give the best performance and be the clear winners but Dermot will call out the name Marcus to win.
Because the winner isnt succesful anymore as they have to wait until next september to release their track, so little mix will be more advantaged to be able to come 2nd and release their music sooner just like JLS and One Direction/Cher Lloyd all did to ride the momentum to a good career

What’s the point in being a Judge if you don’t have the guts? When it’s your turn to vote for someone to go don’t cry, don’t make this about you Ms Rowland JUST DO IT LOSER!! You are a joke!!

if you all like janet so much then why did she get the least amount of votes
Apparently she topped the vote every other week? In my opinion Janet had one of her best weeks last Saturday. I guarantee you Misha had the least amount of votes if it was put too deadlock and she was better in singoff to boot which seems pointless to me.
this years judges are a disgrace first they bully mishab then to make amends gary barlow has verbaly abbused janet for the past 4 weeks bringing her down how could anyone sing with confidence in front of them play back janets first song and look at their faces i will never waste another penny on the show the only decent thing is olly murs and dermut
