X Factor 2012: Amy Mottram sails through to bootcamp with ‘One And Only’! (VIDEO)

Tulisa Contostavlos is sure to have had a hard choice on her hands, as she tried to choose the best of the girls category for the live shows because the young female singers that have appeared on the show this year have been really fabulous.

Tonight Amy Mottram carried on the trend, impressing the judges when she took to the stage in London, to perform for the N Dubz star, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and guest judge Leona Lewis.

The Essex born teenager admitted that she would be right at home on TOWIE, with her big nails, her tan and her ‘vajazzled converse.’

The 16 year old singer was all big earrings, and sparkly top but when she started her rendition of ‘One And Only’ by Adele we were hooked. Her vocals were strong and smooth and sounded much more mature than we would have expected from a performer who is so young.

Our only criticism was that she seemed to have the same speech impediment as Jason from last night’s show and every word she sang with an s in came out sounding like ‘sh.’ It was mildly irritating, but we could forgive almost any small mispronunciation from someone with a voice as captivating as Amy’s.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

Tulisa: You are 16 years old, you sang that song like you have been on the earth a lot longer.

Leona: I am so glad that you auditioned for this show. I think you will go such a long way and I’m glad I was here to witness it.

Louis: Where did the voice come from? This little girl, this amazing and soulful voice. That’s why I love my job….you’re the reason.

Gary: Amy it’s the confidence in your voice and the technique… absolutely gorgeous.

Unsurprisingly Amy got four yeses and won a place in the next round.
