X Factor 2012 bootcamp: GMD3 win over Triple J after head to head sing off for the last place at judges houses!
Tonight’s X Factor show had some very tense moments and none more so than the final sing off between boybands GMD3 and Triple J.
The groups have been pitted against each other ever since their first audition aired and on last night’s show, sang head to head during the first bootcamp stage, thankfully both winning a place on the final day to sing at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
However, their individual performances still weren’t enough to help the judges decide who they wanted in judges houses and who had to go home, as after they chose their other five acts to advance, Gary Barlow informed GMD3 and Triple J that there was one place left and they must battle it out in a sing off, acapella style!
Triple J were first to the stage and delivered a pretty brilliant rendition of ‘Yeah X3.’ It was a really tight and impressive performance, considering the lack of preparation time.
Next up, GMD3 sang ‘That God Blessed The Open Road.’ It was a lot more emotional than Triple J and just as tight. We couldn’t have chosen between the bands if asked.
The judges spent a while chatting about their fate, before Gary informed the lads:
‘OK guys, you have been neck in neck throughout this competition and I’m sorry it has come down to this, but we have to pick one of you right now. The act taking the last place of judge’s houses of the groups is….GMD3.’
What did you think of the judges’ decision? Did they pick the right group? Which did you prefer? Leave your comments below….
Meanwhile, as we prepare for the judges houses episodes of the show to air next weekend, Unreality TV have put together out predictions for his year’s X Factor final 12. Have a look and tell us if you agree!
