X Factor 2012 Bootcamp: Lucy Spraggan wows with ‘Tea and Toast’ – is it enough to make judges houses?

After messing up during her first bootcamp performance and barely making it through to the next round, Lucy Spraggan was understandably nervous when she returned to the stage just a day later.

She told producers:

“I’m feeling the pressure because, first audition was good. Second audition, no. Yesterday I messed up so badly and I came off stage and I was so low, in a really bad place. Today I want the judges to be like ‘that’s what we saw.’ I know I can do it now, I know I can do this so there’s no reason why I shouldn’t.”

Lucy took to the stage and told Tulisa that she had prepared a medley of songs to sing for the panel.

She explained:

“I’ve done a bit of a mix up of some songs that I really like and that mean a lot to me.”

However, the N-Dubz star wanted to hear one of Spraggan’s original tracks, forcing the hopeful to rethink her options. She said:

“I’ve got one called Tea and Toast but it’s a sad song…this song’s about a real couple that I saw…”

She got the signal to start and Lucy performed her self penned tune for the judges and the audience in Liverpool’s Echo Arena. It was quite a sad song but actually pretty inspiring too and we loved her delivery and the down to earth nature of her lyrics…

The crowd literally went wild, cheering her efforts and giving her a standing ovation as she ended. The reception moved Lucy to tears and we have to admit, we were quite touched…it was a lovely moment!

She gushed:

“Thank you so much for the opportunity to play one of my songs!”

Tulisa said:

“Thank you for performing it for us because that was absolustely amazing!”

Gary Barlow added:

“That was unbelievable and that song is so beautiful…”

Do you think Lucy’s performance was good enough to win her a place in the next round? Leave your comments below…

Meanwhile, as we prepare for the judges houses episodes of the show to air next weekend, Unreality TV have put together out predictions for his year’s X Factor final 12. Have a look and tell us if you agree!

That was truly amazing. What a poignant, beautiful song. She may not be the most powerful singer but she definitely has an original talent. Hope it all goes great for you Lucy.

I thought the song was amazing and she is a good performer…with her guitar. Unfortunately I don’t think she can sing well enough without it and x factor is a singing competition not a song writing one. I personally feel she would be better on britains got talent maybe?

  4. Adam says:

Amazing… I just hope the X Factor does not take its usual route and make her do a “Kylie” song on “Kylie Week” she deserves to win!

Lucy Spraggan,s good very good, but shes got about as much chance of winning The X-Factor as i have…… & i haven’t entered.
Shes more of a comedienne (no dis-respect)
