X Factor 2012: Bosses days away from announcing Nicole Scherzinger as Kelly Rowland’s replacement

Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly been offered the chance to join the X Factor judging panel.

The Pussycat Dolls star was only sacked from the US version of the singing talent show in January, after reports that American viewers found her too boring on the hit Fox series.

However, it has been reported that ITV bosses are mad about the brunette beauty and after she filled the spot temporarily in 2010 and again last week, when auditions hit London, they want to sign her as a full time replacement for Kelly Rowland.

Insiders have told The Daily Mail that contracts have already been exchanged and executives are just days away from announcing Scherzinger as their fourth judge, joining Take That star Gary Barlow, N Dubz singer Tulisa and Irish music manager Louis Walsh for the 2012 bootcamp, judges houses and live shows.

Sources told the newspaper that after ITV bosses were turned down by Dannii Minogue, they saw Nicole as the next best thing. They explained:

‘Nicole has always seemed more relaxed on the UK series. We love her and the judges love her. She seems very comfortable on set and at the auditions.’

The three panelists have been joined by Rita Ora, Leona Lewis, Spice Girls Geri Halliwell and Mel B, and US star Anastacia at the tryouts so far this year and other than mel B – who is a judge on Australia’s X Factor – the source added that none impressed producers as much as Nicole.

The source said: ‘No-one really comes close to Nicole. We’re discussing contracts now.

‘The only other person who is possibly in the frame is Mel.’

It is expected that Nicole will jump at the chance to join the UK lineup, despite the fact that she, Paula Abdul and Steve Jones were so easily discarded from The X Factor USA recently.

Simon could be hoping that she will find another One Direction, as she assisted he and Louis Walsh in putting the successful band together back in 2010.

Do you think Nicole will make a good X Factor judge? Leave your comments below…

I find her dull and unimaginative. One less viewer if I have to stick watching her this year!!

Nicole is not too dark, so will be fine with the media and some of the public.

Nicole will be the PERFECT judge she was fabulous on USA so its obvious she’ll be fabulous with the UK. She”s such a kind person and I think she deserves it.

So what if she wasn’t very good on the USA version. She probably wasn’t suited to that show because it is a bigger series, with more pressure and stress.

Nicole maybe better suited to the UK version because it is a smaller show, with the UK being a smaller country. She may actually do better on the UK show. She has more of a fanbase in the UK than the USA, so she may do better here with her music career and as a judge.

I wish Nicole the best and hope this UK gig goes better for her than the USA did. Good luck to her, she is a talented, beautiful woman who deserves success. She will bring publicity and glamour to the UK show.

Carolynne thinks this was a good move however i think that ITV are playing polititics trying her to impove ratings it wont happen she is useless as a judge get Rod Stewart to judge instead of her
