Carolynne Poole has admitted that she is desperate to make it as far as the X Factor live shows this year.

The former Emmerdale actress made it to judges houses last year but was eliminated at the last stage by Louis Walsh.

It was a decision that devastated her and she confessed:

“Last year was my nightmare year. Probably the worst year of my life. I’d gone through a hard time with IVF, my marriage had broken down as a result and I knew if Louis had said no, there was something else I had failed at.”

Poole made it to judges houses once again in 2012 and on last night’s X Factor episode was featured performing Ronan Keating’s ‘Say Nothing At All’ for Gary Barlow and his helper Cheryl Cole.

After her audition Gary said:

‘I think she’s great, she needs a little confidence boost to take her up.’

Carolynne thinks a yes is just what she needs and confessed that she feels like she is more desperate to succeed than any of her fellow contestants. She said:

“I know everybody wants it really badly, I know they do but I want it more.”
