Former X Factor stars are making headlines today for a variety of reasons, with Cher Lloyd making one in the Sun after she had to hand over her goldfish at customs recently, and the JLS lads making another in the Daily Star by posing for an Olympic themed photo shoot.

To begin with Cher’s story, it seems a fan recently gave her a goldfish as a gift – as you do; nothing says I love you like fish – however, Cher realized that she couldn’t take the fishy home to the UK with her as it wouldn’t have been allowed to go on board an aircraft.

She told the Sun, “I was doing a signing and this person came up to me and they had something behind their back.

“They then put it on the table and it was a goldfish in a bag.

“They didn’t say anything, they just walked away and left me with a goldfish…

“I felt really bad as I couldn’t go home with it so I gave it to someone who had a pond.”

And long may Goldfish Lloyd live in said pond.

On now to news of what the JLS boys have been up to, and though the paper didn’t carry any of the resulting pictures, the Daily Star reckon the boys limbered up nicely in all manner of Olympic poses for a photo shoot recently.

The paper states, “Here we see back-flipping Aston Merrygold, 24, putting his famous skills to good use on the high jump and red-hot JB Gill, 25, carrying the scorching Olympic flame.”

And added, “Looking better than ever, Oritsé Williams, 25, gets set for a sprint while Marvin Humes 27, limbers up for the discus.”

But in addition to all this sporty frolicking around, the boys are busy recording a new album which they expect to release later this year.
