X Factor 2012: Cher Lloyd storms into the Top 10 on iTunes in America!

Former X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd is taking the States by storm with her debut US single, Want U Back, and it’s gone straight in the iTunes chart over the pond at No7!

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement for the Worcester girl, she’s also made her American telly debut on America’s Got Talent. Her performance will air later this month.

A breathless Cher said of the news of the iTunes triumph, “I’m so excited by everything that is going on!

“I’ve been touring US radio stations for quite a while now, and it’s been fantastic to get out and see so much of America.”

However, she added, “There’s still lots of hard work to do though!”

Want U Back, featuring Astro, was released in the UK on 19th February, and here – under exclusive license to Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited – is the track’s official video…

Cher’s debut single Swagger Jagger, which was released in June 2011, received lots of negative reviews, however the music buying public apparently didn’t agree with the critics, and the single entered at number one on the UK Singles Chart, and at number two on the Irish Singles Chart.

Cher’s second single, With Ur Love, was released on 31 October last year, and reached number four in the UK, and number five in Ireland.

Her debut album, Sticks + Stones, peaked at number four in the UK Albums Chart and number seven on the Irish Albums Chart.
