X Factor 2012: Chimney Sweep Kye Sones wows with Rita Ora’s RIP!
A 30 year old chimney sweep from Middlesex will be seen wowing the X Factor judges on tonight’s show.
The handsome singer showed up to the London auditions for the ITV show earlier this year and set out to wow guest judge Rita Ora with a version of her hit song RIP.
Before singing the wannabe told Dermot O’Leary:
‘I need a lucky break basically, I’ve been working really hard in music for ten years and played every single toilet club up and down the country.
‘I feel like I have to do this, it’s all I’m good at, I’m rubbish at everything else.’
Taking to the stage, Kye told the panel:
‘I don’t just want the songs I write to end up on pads of paper around my flat, you know, I wanna be heard.’
It seems that he may be one step closer to realising his dream as after his performance, the judges looked pleased.
Gary Barlow gushed:
‘Kye I think the greatest thing with you is the fact that we’ve not only found a great singer, we’ve also found an artist. This is someone who knows exactly how they should sound, what they should be singing, this is extremely exciting.’
Louis Walsh said:
‘Kye you’ve been cleaning chimneys with a voice like this?! You were born to sing, you weren’t born to clean chimneys. “We’re looking for The X Factor and I think we found The X Factor in you.’
Tulisa Contostavlos added:
‘Kye I could listen to you sing all day long. That is the kind of voice that could sell albums.’
‘Kye, Oh my gosh. You made RIP sound so cool man! Can I tell you something….you’re a superstar! You’re an actual superstar.’
Tune into The X Factor tonight at 7.45 to hear Kye’s full audition and to see if he lands a place at bootcamp. Do you know him? Do you think he can do it? Leave your comments below…
