X Factor 2012: Christopher Maloney accuses Louis Walsh & Tulisa of ‘tactical’ judging with ‘diva’ remarks

Christopher Maloney is not a happy bunny and he wants all you X Factor fans out there to know that he is NOT a diva…alright? You got it?

On last night’s Xtra Factor show the 34 year old singer was stunned as Louis Walsh implied that he may have been throwing his weight around backstage.

The Irish star obviously hadn’t learned from last year’s Misha B furore and when a caller asked which contestant is the ‘biggest diva’, he replied:

“I think Chris from Liverpool is a bit of a diva. That’s what I’m hearing.”

Within seconds both Tulisa and Nicole Scherzinger had backed him up, claiming that they had heard rumours to the same effect and it was only Chris’ mentor Gary Barlow that defended him and told his fellow panellists off for getting embroiled in gossip again.

Later in the evening Maloney got his right to respond and claimed that the judges comments were driven by tactics and intended to reduce his public support.

He looked pretty upset as he told Caroline Flack:

“I think it is tactical. To be honest with you Louis only sees me when I’m on stage. You know how hard I work behind the scenes and stuff so I think it’s very tactical.”

When asked if there has been any time when he may have behaved in an even slightly diva like manner, Chris continued:

“Swear down, honest to God. Take no notice of what Louis’ saying, because he’s got it in for me one way or another!”

He added:

“He has said a few negative things.”

Chris’ team GB pal Kye Sones backed his friend up and said:

“We share a room. He’s not a diva at all.”

Chris later took to Twitter and revealed that he challenged Louis about why he picked him as the show ‘diva’ and it seems the former Westlife boss couldn’t provide him with a reason. He tweeted:

‘Louis walsh calling me a diva! I asked him after the show why he said it and he said “i couldn’t think and ur name just popped into my head”‘

‘Funny him, all the crew was laughing wen he said it lol we couldnt believe wot we heard.’

Chris has a lot of catching up to do, as on Saturday he won the thirteenth place in the competition through the wildcard vote and while the judges loved his subsequent vocal performance, they weren’t so keen on his song choice.

He’s hard at work today with the Take That star and revealed:

‘Just off to rehearsals with the 1 an only @GBarlowOfficial to sort out this weeks song, im working so hard to get it right. Enjoy ur day. X’

What do you think of Louis’ claims last night? Were they fair? Leave your comments below….

I was shocked to see all the contestants have stage sets, dancers and backing vocals. Why didn’t Christopher have this, is it because he has real talent.

What we REALLY want to know is what that producer crawled over the stage for, and what he whispered in LOUIS EAR right there during the sing-offs…. was he telling Louis to make it a dramatic judgement call becasue the figures are 1 million down? Was he saying, “Louis, you got to get us some column inches!” ??? What did he tell him that could not have gone through the judges earpieces? It wern’t “Louis, stop picking your nose!” any ideas????

It is quite clear this weeks vote was a fix, every year they have freak/joke acts & this year it is Rylan. The viewing is down and getting worse every year as public become tired with the shallowness of the show. I have no doubt Nicole was told to pick Rylan for the final & Louis was told to save him but to try to be dramatic, as it made good TV it was all very contrived .. I wish people would just stop watching and in particular, voting then they wouldn’t make any money & would have to pull the show.

I actually love the show, but people are right, it was disgusting how that producer did that, it was quite clear to the public what was happening and for louis to look so fake. Once again they have lost a,amazing singer to a bloke who isn’t good enough. Ridiculous.

I never believed all that crying and nerves malarky at the auditions. Christopher’s nerves seem to have miraculously vanished now he’s on the live shows. Grandad’s funeral, looking after his old granny, family telling him not to “make a show of himself” blah blah – oh, give it a rest. He pulled out all the stops for the sympathy vote and I was jolly glad he was booted out of the judges’s houses round. Now he’s back … after we were all invited to vote (ie spend our money) to save him. X – Factor or do-they-think-we’re-idiots factor?

I’m not bothered if he is a diva. What bothers me is the fact he doesn’t seem to know a single song from this century. His style of singing is very out-dated. Should’ve stuck to singing on cruises.
