X Factor 2012: Crowds turn on Mel B and shout bring back Geri Halliwell after she is nasty to pensioner Lou

If Geri Halliwell was embarrassed about the negative reaction she received when she acted as a guest X Factor judge last week, then she’ll be feeling slightly better this morning after finding out that her former bandmate Mel B was even less popular with fans.

The former Spice Girl took a seat on the judging panel yesterday in Manchester and while the audience hadn’t thought much of Geri, when she stepped in for the Liverpool tryouts two weeks ago, yesterday they were begging for her return, as Mel turned her sharp tongue on some of the wannabes.

While the mum of three hadn’t been entirely popular during the first part of the audition session, the crowd really turned against her after the performance of an 81 year old singer named Lou.

The pensioner crooned ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Adele and dedicated it to his late wife, who passed away four years ago.

Although his vocal wasn’t exactly perfect, onlookers told Unreality TV that it was perfectly listenable and seemed to move Tulisa Contostavlos, who revealed afterwards that she had been touched by his performance and story.

Gary Barlow admitted that he also enjoyed the song, but said he didn’t feel that Lou was right for the show. In other words he let the granddad down gently.

Unfortunately, Mel B was not so kind. She told the elderly hopeful:

“I wanted to fall asleep.”

The crowd were furious with the X Factor Australia judge and began to boo her at this point, even chanting ‘BRING BACK GERI’ as she tried to go on talking.

Anyone who has watched Mel on the Australian version of the talent show won’t be surprised by her behaviour, as she often likes to play the Simon Cowell figure on that series too.

Mel will be in Manchester for the next two days with the X Factor panel. We can’t wait to hear what other stories emerge …. maybe she’ll make a teenager cry this afternoon!

Do you think she makes a good judge? Leave your comments below…

Mel B rocks. Leave her alone. This is what she is renowned for on the Aussie version and if you can’t handle the truth then thats your problem.

She was horrible to most of the contestants, but when she said that to Lou we couldn’t believe it. We were all chanting “OFF OFF OFF!” at her, and she deserved it. A really nasty woman who is full of herself, I doubt she’ll be back after these auditions, thank goodness!
