Fans of The X Factor will of course know that show supremo Simon Cowell is planning a major revamp of the show next year – which will be the talent quest’s tenth anniversary – and part of the shake-up reportedly includes bringing back former judges.
However, Dannii Minogue won’t be one of them, because she’s announced that she’s to become a judge on Sky Living show, Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. She’ll join existing judges Elle Macpherson and model Tyson Beckford in the show’s new series next year.
But of course, since Tom Bower revealed that Simon and Dannii had had an affair – in his biography of Simon – Dannii has apparently been livid that Cowell gave Bower permission to write about their fling.
A show insider told TV Biz, “This is two fingers up to Cowell…
“She is definitely not going back to The X Factor and can’t wait to get working on Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model.
“Dannii loves the fashion world and this show is perfect for her.”
Dannii, who left The X Factor in 2010, said last night, “I’m ready for the Top Model search and it’s great to be returning to UK TV.
“Messages from fans on Twitter and Facebook over the last few years have been my inspiration to come back for the right opportunity.”
Simon reportedly offered Dannii £1million to return to X Factor for this year’s series, but she gave him an unequivocal ‘no’ to his offer. He had intended that she replace either Gary Barlow or Tulisa.
So far, it’s been rumoured that Sharon Osbourne will be back next year, but the fate of the other judges is still not known.
