The X Factor returns to our screens tonight and making her TV debut on the talent show is sixteen year old singer Ella Henderson.

Before taking to the stage, the stunning schoolgirl admitted that she was incredibly nervous about taking to the stage, especially as guest judge Mel B was being so brutally honest and scathing with the other contestants that day.

She told producers that she would be singing a song she wrote herself, a song inspired by her late grandfather who always encouraged her and supported her musical ambitions.

The youthful performer then sang her self penned song, titled goodbye and from the start she looked pretty teary eyed.

Within minutes the judges were following her lead and seconds after her dad broke down in tears in the backstage area, Tulisa looked like she was about to sob for hours.

After the performance Mel B, who had been nicknamed ‘Grumpy Spice’ up until that point raved about the audition saying:

‘Those words hit a chord with everyonne. Your song writing is so clever and when you sang it, I believed every word. It was incredible, absolute incredible!’

High praise from the Spice Girl who had slated everyone else she saw that day.

Louis Walsh was a fan too and gushed:

‘Brilliant audition. You’re a class act!’

Gary Barlow added:

‘That was out of this world! It was something special.’

Tulisa raved:

‘There are so many great things I could say about you…..you are the one person I really want to mentor. There is something so special in you.’

Tune into the X Factor this evening to see Ella’s full audition and to find out whether she makes bootcamp.
