We reported earlier in the week that Jahmene Douglas was the new bookies favourite to win The X Factor this year but it is by no means a one horse race just yet.
Bookmakers slashed their odds on the 21 year old taking the crown in the final next month, after a string of excellent performances. The news piled pressure onto second favourite Ella Henderson, who was previously in the top spot but drifted from 13/8 to 7/4 after reports that she wasn’t faring too well in terms of public votes.
James Arthur is very much hot on the other two’s heels though and has come in from 3/1 to 5/2 to win the show after a series of solid performances and backing from celebrities such as Tinchy Stryder, Ed Sheeran and Labrinth.
“At one point Ella looked like making the X Factor a one horse race, but she has real competition in James & Jahmene now and needs a big performance this Saturday,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.
Meanwhile, one more act will leave the show tomorrow night and currently, former model Rylan Clark is the 4/6 favourite to be voted off, with Liverpudlian hopeful Christopher Maloney right behind him at 3/1.
Union J aren’t looking too safe either at 4/1 for the boot.
The stars will all take to the stage tonight, for the seventh live show of the series and will be competing for only five places next weekend.
Christopher Maloney is the last remaining over, Union J are the only group and Ella Henderson is the last girl in the competition.
Nicole Scherzinger has three boys left though and James, Jahmene and Rylan will be giving their all to win an extra week on the show.
