X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow is “absolutely thrilled” over OBE & Little Mix star Jesy thanks fans for birthday cards

X Factor judge Gary Barlow has revealed that he was “absolutely thrilled” to hear that the Queen is to award him an OBE in her Birthday Honours list.

The news of the honour was leaked last week, but made official yesterday. It of course comes after the Queen praised Gary for the “tireless efforts” he made in organizing her Diamond Jubilee concert and for – along with Andrew Lloyd Webber – putting together charity track, Sing.

Of the news, Gary said, “I feel very privileged to be in the company of so many brilliant people who I know have received an OBE.”

Military Wives choirmaster Gareth Malone will also receive an OBE, as will Sarah Burton, who designed Princess Kate’s wedding gown last year…

The Daily Star reports that other celebs recognised by Her Majesty include actresses Kate Winslet, Jenny Agutter and Amanda Redman, former England goalkeeper David James and golf world No1 Luke Donald.

In other X Factor news, Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has thanked her fans for sending her hundreds of birthday cards and gifts for her 21st.

Overwhelmed by all the affection shown to her by fans, Jesy took to Twitter to thank them all.

She wrote, “Hey my beautiful Little Mixers. Thank you so much to everybody that made me a card. They’re amazing. Love them all.”

And of a night out with her Little Mix band mates to celebrate her birthday, Jesy added, “Had such an amazing night with my beautiful girls. It was the best birthday ever! Jesy xxx.”

Aww, happy belated birthday Jesy!
