X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow chooses Kye Sones, Carolynne Poole & Melanie Masson
Gary Barlow was seen picking the last of his X Factor contestants tonight.
The Take That star was allowed to take four acts to the live shows and his first pick was handsome performer Kye Sones, meaning that he was leaving behind Nicola Marie and rock singer Brad Shackleton.
He told Kye:
‘You are through to my final three. I am so pleased for you…I believe in you I really do. I’m looking forward to working with you.’
Next up was Carolynne Poole, who revealed that she was ‘petrified’ and had a ‘really bad feeling’ about what Gaz was going to say.
She shouldn’t have panicked so much though and although he had doubts and admitted:
‘Your fear of failure frightened me. You cannot go out there thinking you are going to fail..You cannot do that. That terrifies me. The pressure will go up fifty times in live shows.’
Gary did put her through and added:
‘I am so, so pleased for you. You deserve it so much.’
He admitted that right up until the last minute, he still hadn’t made his choice between the pair. Barlow loved how well Chris connected with the audience at every point, but he confessed that Mel hits notes that ‘people dream of.’
However, Chris’ nerves worried the judge and he insisted that ‘those feelings are hard to conquer.’ To Masson he asked ‘why haven’t you made it? I think you’re someone who has had opportunities.’
Revealing his decision the dad of three told Masson that she was going on to perform on the live shows, while weepy Maloney was leaving the show.
