X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow insists the overs won’t be a ‘joke’ anymore….
Simon Cowell made an appearance on tonight’s X Factor show and was first seen calling Gary Barlow and telling him which category he would be mentoring this year.
The music mogul told the Take That star:
“OK, so we have given it a lot of thought, me and the producers, and the category you are going to mentor is….The over 28’s.”
Barlow seemed chuffed and replied:
“Oh wow. Brilliant! That is good news to my ears.”
The dad of three will be working with Kye Sones, Melanie Masson, Nicola Marie, Brad Shackleton, Carolynne Poole & Christopher Maloney at judges houses and next week, will be seen choosing between the six singers, choosing just three for the live shows.
He thinks he’s the man for the job too and added:
“I feel like in recent years, the overs has become a bit of a joke category and I really want to restore what the overs should be this year. There are people over 28 with talent!”
Do you think Gary can win with the overs? Leave your comments below….
Meanwhile, as we prepare for the judges houses episodes of the show to air next weekend, Unreality TV have put together out predictions for his year’s X Factor final 12. Have a look and tell us if you agree!

A joke? So 4th place finalist Mary was a joke then? News to me…
I hope this time, the Overs win! And it must a Man! Too much Boyband, Solo Ladies like Leona, Cher, Alexandra, Rebecca, and just Olly Murs, He need a new rival in the person of Kyle Sones or Brad Shackleton.
I have always wandered why it is that young beautiful talented minority artists like Leanne Robinson are not receiving more spotlight in this xfactor show. I love black folk but too often what I’ve noticed is that they get treated like crap! And its just because of their ethnicity. In all honesty, I think a few rich black artists should pool together and make their own xfactor rival show for young black artists. Leanne is obviously a great contender this year but she is being hidden by xfactor. Well not even hidden obscured really! Nothing is being put out there about her by xfactor and for me all respect has gone out the door for this “show.”
