X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow will be the singing voice of Postman Pat in new movie!
It’s been reported today that X Factor judge and Take That star Gary Barlow is set to be the singing voice of Postman Pat in a new movie which is to be filmed next year…
Starring Stephen Mangan in the title role as the cat-loving postie, the film will boast a cast that reads like a Who’s Who of British actors, including Jim Broadbent, David Tennant, Rupert Grint and Kate Winslet, who’ll play Pat’s wife.
The plot will see Pat trying out for an X Factor-esque talent show which is judged by Simon Cowbell, who’s described as “an oily, smarmy guy.”
And it’s here that Gary comes into it as he’ll be Pat’s singing voice…
Speaking to the Daily Star, Stephen said, “There are songs like Wait A Minute Mr Postman and Signed, Sealed Delivered.
“I was so excited when I got that job.
“I said to my five year old son Harry: ‘I’m Postman Pat,’ and he said: ‘No you’re not.’
“Still, therapy will sort that out!”
The film is being made by DreamWorks, and just in case they’re reading this, I thought we might come up with a few suggestions for other songs Gary could sing – adapted from Take That’s hits – in his role as Pat’s voicebox…
He could sing A Million Love Letters, Broken Your Parcel, Eight Letters (that one’s the same as the original title of course) and How Deep Is Your Sack.
Do feel free to add your own Take That song variations
