X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow’s mum told him off for his “tantrum” last week & Sinitta says Simon Cowell needs to come back the UK pronto

As we saw on last night’s X Factor, judge Gary Barlow tried to put an end to the drama of last week’s shock elimination of Carolynne Poole by shaking fellow judge Louis Walsh’s hand…

And though tensions surfaced again later on in the live show, according to The People, Gary’s olive branch gesture was inspired after Gary’s mum told him off for not respecting his elders and for having a “tantrum” backstage.

We have a clip of that for you after the jump, but first, Gary explained that his mum Marge wasn’t impressed with him for storming out of the studio last week.

He said, “My mum always says be respectful to your elders and I got a bit of a telling-off.

“She told me, ‘You shouldn’t do that. He’s older than you and you should pay him some respect’…

“But I thought, ‘What about my acts?’ I was even more upset than I appeared on the show and I was trying to hide it because I knew the cameras were on me.

“I couldn’t stand the thought of them taking shots of my face while Carolynne was going through that. I couldn’t bare it. So I walked off.”

He added, “I was angry with Louis and I blame him for what happened, to make a contestant wait and wait is horrible and then taking it to deadlock is awful.

“To string someone along and make them wait is awful.

“I’ve got to watch and critique his acts but yes he has gone down in my estimations.

“If it was up to Louis, Rylan would be the next X Factor winner although he was in the bottom two.

“I hate the idea of it being fixed. People want to see talent. Louis hasn’t had an act for quite a few years now.

“It feels like he has retired into this show and left management.”

Well, if rumours are to be believed, Louis is acting as Simon Cowell’s “spy” in the X Factor ranks, and it is in fact Simon who calls Louis’ shots.

Of that, Gary said, “If Simon tried to tell me who to vote for I would say no. Nobody tells me what to do.”

Here’s a reminder of Gary’s meltdown last week…

Meanwhile, Simon’s former right-hand woman Sinitta reckons that the music mogul needs to come back to X Factor UK to settle the backstage drama.

She also revealed – during an interview with TV Biz – that she doesn’t believe Gary would ever quit the show, despite it being reported last week that he’s threatened to do just that if there’s any repeat of last Sunday’s debacle.

Sinitta said, “Simon needs to come back to sort out the judges.”

She added, “I don’t think Gary will quit the show. It’s understandable why he was upset but as the head judge he has to lead by example.

“Carolynne’s song wasn’t memorable enough. Gary’s got to suck it up.”

Yikes.
