X Factor 2012: Geri Halliwell livid with Mel B & Dermot O’Leary’s chuffed that Nicole Scherzinger is new judge!
It’s been reported today that Spice Girl Geri Halliwell was so convinced that she had the fourth X Factor judge in the bag that when her band mate Mel B became a guest judge at the auditions recently, Geri sent an angry text to her saying, “Congrats on getting my job!”
Geri of course went down like a case of the trots with the audience when she was a guest judge at auditions recently, and though Mel B wasn’t given much of a reception either, Geri reportedly just can’t get over that she made an appearance at all.
A source close to Geri told Closer magazine, “Geri was gutted her guest role didn’t become permanent.
“She’s told pals she texted Mel saying: ‘Congrats on getting my job!’ It’s a bit odd – as Mel hasn’t got the permanent role.
“Mel’s told pals that she has nothing against Geri. She hopes it will blow over…”
Meanwhile, X Factor host Dermot O’Leary recently revealed that he’s delighted that Nicole Scherzinger has landed the role of the fourth UK judge, but of Geri and Mel’s stints, he said Geri had been “confrontational” and added that Mel B “didn’t give a ****” whether or not she was booed by the audience.
But of Nicole’s appointment to the role of judge, he said, “We start with Nicole on Monday in Newcastle
“The great thing about Nicole is that she gets us, which is lovely.
“A lot of Americans, there’s not much cross over sometimes, but she’s brilliant.”
He added, “I loved Rita Ora, she was terrific. She’s young but she knows what she’s doing, she spoke a lot of sense. ”
The X Factor UK auditions continue on Monday.
