X Factor 2012: GMD3 had a ‘feeling’ they would go up against Triple J
The lads of GMD3 have admitted that they half expected to engage in some sort of sing off with fellow boyband Triple J at the X Factor bootcamp.
Micky Parsons, Greg West and Dan Ferrari-Lane were first seen wowing the judges at their original audition a few weeks ago on the ITV series and at bootcamp they first went head to head with Triple J during the group battles, but then the next day, when the performing was finished and the judges were supposed to be choosing their final six groups, they asked the two boybands to sing once more, this time acapella and revealed that only one of them would go through.
Speaking to The Windsor Observer Micky revealed that he and his bandmates weren’t very surprised and explained:
“We had a slight feeling something like that was going to happen.
“Fortunately we had the opportunity to have a quick vocal warm-up in the morning. It was still a shock, but we had prepared a bit which helped.”
The trio sang Rascal Flatts’ Bless The Broken Road for the judges and went on to win the last remaining place in judges houses, while Triple J were eliminated.
It all worked out in the end though, as a few weeks later, Rough Copy were forced to pull out of the competition due to visa issues and Triple J were back….though this time they were asked to team up with solo singer George Shelley and rename themselves Union J.
Viewers will see GMD3 performing again during this weekend’s X Factor double bill, in their attempt to impress Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne and make the live shows. Do you think they’ll be good enough? Leave your comments below….
Meanwhile, as we prepare for the judges houses episodes of the show to air next weekend, Unreality TV have put together out predictions for his year’s X Factor final 12. Have a look and tell us if you agree!
