X Factor 2012: Jade Ellis stuns the judges with ‘Something Good’ – doing it all for her daughter!

Jade Ellis is all set to make her big X Factor debut on tonight’s show.

The 25 year hopeful, from Greenwich currently passes her days working in a bike shop, however she told producers that she was desperate to make a move into the music industry, as she wants to provide a better life for her beautiful six year old daughter Cayden.

Jade said:

“In general day to day life I just love being with my daughter. She’s 6 years old, her name is Cayden and we love going to the park, we go for bike rides a lot.”

She added:

“Being a mum, I wasn’t sure how I was going to take to it at first, obviously being quite young I wasn’t sure if I was really mature enough, but as soon as I had her it was amazing, it was just like ‘I’m a mum’, it just felt natural. I actually live in a very tall flat, like a tower block, I’m on the 8th floor, there is a lift but It generally breaks down quite a lot, I’ve been stuck in there a few times.”

On what she hope the future will bring Ellis continued:

“If I did win The X Factor I would go to a nice little house with a little garden, I think that’s all I want really is that patch of heaven. I really do enjoy my job but ideally I’d like to give my daughter something a little bit better and it’s not just about that it’s about just showing her that she can do anything she wants to do and that’s what any parent wants for their kids really.”

Jade tried out for Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and guest judge Leona Lewis in London earlier this year and speaking about her former stage experience, told the panel:

” I used to do musical theatre before I had my daughter, my daughter’s 6 years old so I haven’t done anything for quite a while.”

Gary asked:

“So pretty much from the age of 19 you had your daughter and then stopped? That’s a lot of people’s stories.”

She confessed “Yeah exactly so I’m hoping I can make this story a little bit different,” and then launched into a rendition of Something Good by Maverick Sabre.

Judges’ Comments:

Leona: That was so good! I felt every lyric you were singing, you’ve got an amazing voice.

Tulisa: I love it when I see people like yourself who at a period in your life had to give up what you were doing but you didn’t let go of your dreams and you have come back fighting and it was worth it, that was amazing.

Tune into the X Factor tonight to see Jade’s full audition and to discover whether or not she makes it through to bootcamp.

If Jade does make it through, she’ll be mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos who landed the girls category this year.
