Jake Quickenden has revealed that he was delighted to discover that he would be mentored by Niocle Scherzinger on the X Factor this year.

The talented singer shone on the last two episodes of ITV show, making it through both bootcamp stages with ease and being revealed last night as one of the 25 acts through to judges houses.

He joins the boys catgeory and will be mentored by the former Pussycat Dolls star…a fate that he isn’t exactly upset about.

He told Yahoo:

“Nicole is beautiful and she obviously knows what she’s talking about and she’s an amazing judge.”

Jake added:

“I was happy to get her but I’d have been happy with any judge – I was happy to just be there!”

Since the judges houses acts were revealed yesterday, there has been some controversy surrounding the choosing of model and fashion addict Rylan Clark.

He previously shot to fame as the winner of Signed By Katie Price on Sky Living and many viewers were furious when the panel awarded him a place in the next round but sent singers such as Joseph Whelan home.

Quickenden has defended his pal, after spending time with him in Dubai when he attended judges houses and told Digital Spy that he deserves to be in the competition as much as any of his fellow hopefuls.

“I absolutely 100% love him,” Quickenden said.

He continued:

“Rylan’s the best lad ever. If you are feeling down, he picks you up straight away.”

“I think he’s class, but he fully admits to not having the best voice either.

“And the judges must have seen something in him. He totally deserves to be there.”

The hunk also revealed that he has received a LOT of female attention in recent weeks and has been bombarded by saucy tweets and sexy texts from new fans.

One woman messaged Jake asking if she could see his ding dong and he joked:

“I’ll send it to her in the post or something!”
