Jake Quickenden has shed some light on what happened when he, Adam Burridge and Robbie Hance teamed up at X Factor bootcamp earlier this year.
The handsome singer was seen shining on the ITV show at the weekend, sailing through both bootcamp stages and onto judges houses, but not without a little bit of drama first.
He, Adam and Robbie had some problems during their rehearsals, as the latter kept going missing and taking power naps when they were supposed to be practicing their song. In the end, the homeless singer set down his mic, walked off the stage and left Burridge and Quickenden to continue without him.
Speaking on This Morning about the day, Jake said:
“Bootcamp was a crazy experience. Nobody expected Robbie Hance to pull out.”
“We rehearsed through the day, while Robbie was on the sofa for three hours, we then rehearsed into the night and thought we could nail it.
“When Robbie stopped in the audition I was trying to listen to the song and get it right. It was crazy.”
Jake confirmed that he has considered trying out for the show before now, but could never work up the nerve. He continued:
“Every year I thought about auditioning but would come up with an excuse. This year was perfect because we could sing our own music and play the guitar.
“Every lad put through in my category is amazing and are the best bunch ever.
“If I don’t make it through to the live shows it is not my time.
