Jake Quickenden admitted recently that one of the things that pushed him while he was at X Factor judges houses was the need to make the live shows so his younger brother could come and see him perform.

The handsome singer sailed through to the final audition round, where he performed Back For Good for Nicole Scherzinger and Ne-Yo. He had learned just days before that his younger sibling Ollie was terminally ill and revealed that he was desperate to give him something ‘to live for’.

Jake explained:

“To give my little brother and my mum something to look forward to and something to kind of live for….to know that I could be at the live shows and he would get a chance to come and see me there…it would give us all something to look forward to.”

Quickenden added:

“It is quite big.”

“It would mean a lot….a hell of a lot!”

Unfortunately for Jake, his brother passed away on the earlier this month, just days after judges houses took place and we reported this week that hundreds of the family’s friends and neighbours turned out for his funeral which took place earlier this week.

Viewers will find out tonight if Nicole awarded Jake a place in her final twelve.
