University student Jason brought a bit of a comedic feel to tonight’s X Factor show, with his love for Tulisa, his dreams of being like Justin Bieber and his inability to say Contostavlos’ name.

The 18 year old revealed that he was rather obsessed by one of the panel when he turned up to Liverpool to audition for the ITV show, telling Dermot O’Leary that all he could think about, now that he was in the same room as the love of his life, was ‘kissing her on the lips’. He gushed about how eh loved her so much, almsot as much as he loves his mum, though thankfully Jason did insist that he loved the two ladies in very different ways….phew!

The Vietnamese student, who now lives in Birmingham, also lusts for Adele, Alicia Keys and Cheryl Cole, but Tulisa holds a special place in his heart, because of her unmatchable talent, he added:

“She’s lovely, she’s brilliant, she’s talented, she’s amazing, she’s gorgeous!”

OK, OK, we get the point! You’d like a bit of dirty N-Dubz loving……move on!

Unfortunately Jason did not move on and when he took to the stage, his excitement spilled over once more and after declaring his love very publicly for the then brunette beauty, he headed straight down to the judges’ table to present her with a rose that of course he bought himself and had not been given by producers beforehand….no way….it definitely did not go down like that.

Finally – and at one point we thought the moment would never come – he did start to sing and we were mildly surprised when he delivered a pretty decent rendition of ‘I Have Nothing’ by Whitney Houston. It wasn’t note perfect but it was actually charming in a weird sort of way….

The judges seemed shocked too and after telling Jason that of course he could be her ‘toyboy’, Tulisa added:

“I loved the rose, I loved you and I loved the performance, how about that. You wanted my love, you’ve earned it, I love ya.”

Guest judge Geri Halliwell was floored and revealed that the performance was ‘much better’ than she thought it would be, admitting that ‘it’s a hard song to sing.’

Louis Walsh of course waxed lyrical about the whole ‘likability’ thing, which he seems obsessed with this year and added ‘I want to hear more.’

Mocking Jason’s pronunciation of ‘Tulisha’s’ name, Gary Barlow joked:

‘I thought that was absolutely ‘shplendid’!’

Unsurprisingly, Jason got four yeses and landed a place in bootcamp. If he was lucky enough to make it to judges houses, he will have found a place in Nicole Scherzinger’s category and traveled to Dubai last week as she chose her final four singers for the live shows.
