Kye Sones brought his brooding good looks, edgy piercings and husky tones to the X Factor stage for the first time this evening.

The handsome singer won a place in gary Barlow’s overs category at judges houses recently and was the only male representing the Take That star on the ITV show….untils wildcard singer Christopher Maloney returned earlier this evening.

Earlier today, Kye revealed to his Twitter followers that he was incredibly nervous before taking to the stage, writing:

“Ok now I’m nervous!!!!! Never thought I would even get through the first audition!”

He had a pretty amazing week though and before this evening, Kye got to sing with Mark Owen and Gary Barlow in a studio, as well as meeting Phil and Holly at This Morning…..that’s hard to top!

Tonight, Kye took on by ‘Man In The Mirror’ by Michael Jackson, which we wouldn’t have expected but turned out to be a good song choice for the alternative performer.

Sones owned the stage, performed the song with his vocals, his staging and his persona and for once, we enjoyed the arrangement that the X Factor team had produced for the track

His vocals were spot on and it was nice to see someone who appeared to be enjoying himself. We loved the sexy leather look too!

JUDGES COMMENTS:

LOUIS: That was incredible, it’s your time. This is going to change your life. You are going to go far in the competition.

NICOLE: Kye I know you’ve worked very hard for this moment so take it all in an enjoy it.

TULISA: I know how much this means to you and you deserve it because you are amazing. Only criticism would be the backing track was too bubbly but that’s not your problem.

GARY: I want to apologise, the production team seemed to spend all their money on Rylan’s act and there was nothing left for you. I’ll make sure you get it all next week.
