X Factor 2012 live show 3: ‘Big Balls’ Jahmene Douglas weeps and wows with ‘Say A Little Prayer’ (VIDEO)
Jahmene Douglas has had a tough couple of days, with details of his personal life and upbringing leaking to the press day by day.
We were a little worried about how that would affect his performance tonight before the live show started, especially as it was club classics week, making it harder for him to channel any negative emotions into a meaningful performance.
One thing we were looking forward to though was Jahmene’s big entrance, as he informed Unreality TV that he would be walking down the steps once used by Whitney Houston on the ITV show.
The song wasn’t a Whitney one though and this evening Jahmene performed ‘Say A Little Prayer’ for the judges.
There was some sound problems at the beginning, which seemed to throw him a little at first. The 23 year old pulled it together though and as always he showed his brilliant vocal skill. His big note at the end was particularly impressive.
However, we don’t think this was the best song choice for him and Nicole needs to work a little harder on her tunes next week.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS: You are adorable, all I can say is how amazing you are. Something about you tells me that you’re whole life has been building up to this point. You are supposed to stand on that stage and you deserve it.
GARY BARLOW: Another stunning performance, your voice is something else. I don’t think you need to move round the stage, you look quite clumsy when you do. Just stand there and sing, your voice is incredible.
LOUIS WALSH: The little man with the big voice, at times you reminded me of Ray Charles. You are amazing.
NICOLE SCHERZINGER: What is real is real talent in real life. You are 22 and have survived so much. You have bigger balls than anyone I know. I love you and I am so proud of you. You are here for a great purpose.

He is world class,what a voice,it seems there pushing Ella as the winner but this guy for me is the winner totally amazing
Gav I agree with you. It is pathetic how they think Ella is the winner for the show. She does not have the likability factor am sorry to say. I believe in Jahmene we have a world class star!

Jahmene it was so emotional seeing you tonight your a very special person who has been in terrible situations which knobody should have to go through everybody can see what a true gentle person you are and you have the support of thousends of people who want to listern to your singing an amazingly talented young man who will go far in life .
I so agree with everyone’s comments. I understood Jahmene’s comments about being terrified everytime his father came into the room, but no one can understand
his experiences as they are extreme as his father was.
His voice is superb though. I hated the song. The judges need to be so careful with their song choices, but Jahmene did a grand job even so.
