X Factor 2012: Louis Walsh LOVES Jahmene Douglas but not Cher Lloyd or Christopher Maloney
Louis Walsh has admitted that other than his own X Factor contestants, his favourite act on the show this year is the lovely Jahmene Douglas.
The 21 year old hopeful has won the hearts of the nation with his incredible voice and his wonderful story of overcoming adversity to follow your dream and it seems that Louis has been just as inspired as us by the former shelf stacker.
The former Westlife boss praised Jahmene and compared him to a number of his favourite legendary singers, saying:
“Besides my own acts, Jahmene has been one of my favourite ever performers over the years. He is a class act. He’s got soul. He’s Marvin Gaye and Al Green rolled into one.”
Jahmene won rave reviews from the panel on Saturday night’s show, after he moved himself to tears during his performance of ‘Say A Little Prayer.’
Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she was a little choked up after his performance too and has been helping Douglas boost the profile of a campaign his mum is taking part in, to raise funds for victims of domestic violence.
Meanwhile, although Louis loves Jahmene, he doesn’t have the same depth of feeling for all this year’s contestants and admitted that he hasn’t been blown away by Christopher Maloney yet.
The Irish star damaged the reputation of the 34 year old singer recently, when he claimed that he was the biggest backstage diva of the bunch. He doesn’t think that he’s very current either and said:
“He is what he is. He cannot be what he’s not. He’s a great cabaret singer. Christopher is an old fashioned entertainer.”
However, Chris wasn’t the only one that failed to win high praise from Louis and when asked what other contestants he hasn’t warmed to over the years, he mentioned Steve Brookstein, but added that he didn’t really take to Cher Lloyd either. Walsh said:
“I wasn’t crazy about Cher Lloyd. She had an attitude but she has turned it around and been really successful since leaving the show. Fair play to her!”

I have written so many times of how much I admire
Jahmene from his first time on the stage and will continue to do so. I look forward every week to see what he is going to sing.
i like jahmene it will be good for him not to win the show than he won’t face being dropped
I absolutely love Jahmene, always have from the very first audition.However i don’t want the curse of winning, as never before has a Male winner gone on to be a real sucess.I will continue to vote for him every week but in the final i may vote for Ella!!!!
Great comments. Jahmene coming second would be just perfect: loads of kudos and the freedom to negotiate, a bit, his own terms for a contract. It certainly hasn’t done Rebecca any harm. Who was that guy who beat Rebecca?
Jahmene to win for me.The king must have his crown.He is far the best singer the show has ever had and he makes compulsive viewing as he improves with every performance where the rest don’t.
Jahmene Douglas has taken soul music to a whole new level .I hope to meet him after the show has finished in December and to help his mother’s campaign to raise funds for victims of domestic abuse.
Everyone who I talk to about the show talks only of Jahmene.He is a bright light for so many people in this world.
The new voting system should be scarpped and replaced
