Louis Walsh says Britney Spears wasn’t ‘all that’ and prefers British X Factor – he’s now getting ready for judges houses!

Louis Walsh has claimed that he much prefers working on the UK version of the X Factor to it’s American coutnerpart.

The Irish star has judged on the ITV talent series for the last nine years and admitted recently that he hopes to make it ten in 2013. Earlier this year, he filled in for Simon Cowell on the US series, sitting alongside Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, however he says the British version is the best.

Cowell had a bad flu earlier this year and needed someone to step in asap. Despite being slap bang in the middle of the UK audition tour, Louis jumped on a plane, spent two days in America and then returned to Britain to continue his work for the ITV show with Gary Barlow and Tulisa.

He told The Sun that after comparing the two shows and two judging panels, he’s happiest here. He explained

“I did two days on the American show because Simon was sick. I was sat with Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and LA Reid.

“I’d work on any of the X Factor shows around the world. I love it.

“But I do think the UK X Factor is different, I think it’s got the edge on everything because we always get great personalities.”

Louis loves the stars that have been born from ITV’s X Factor and the fact that the show has delivered such successful popstars over the last few years.

He added:

“The people that show up are incredible. The shows deliver pop stars like Olly Murs, One Direction, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis… it’s not necessarily the people who win the shows that are successful.”

“I mean, look at Jedward. They didn’t win but they’re still working all the time. Kids love them.”

However, there is one fly in the ointment, the UK’s X Factor no longer has Simon Cowell and that’s something that makes Louis a little bit sad. He misses the music mogul and confessed:

“I miss Simon. He’s honest – he’s always looking for people who will sell records.”

Walsh’s dreams may come true later this year as ITV bosses have confirmed that Cowell will make an appearance on The X Factor ‘in some guise’ in the lives shows. Scenes have already been filmed showing him assigning Louis, Tulisa, Gary and Nicole Scherzinger their categories.

Louis isn’t the only one who prefers the British version of The X Factor, as Nicole Scherzinger recently admitted that she also thinks our series is ‘more fun.’

The panel are beginning to film judges this week and yesterday Nicole returned from Dubai, where she chose her final boys for the live shows.

Caroline Flack has revealed that after touching down in London last night, she will be leaving her home again today to film either Gary, Louis or Tulisa making their final selections.

Louis will be hitting Las Vegas, where he will be assisted by Sharon Osbourne in choosing his best groups for the live rounds.
