X Factor 2012: Lucy Spraggan quits, will NOT be replaced and someone will be eliminated tomorrow – what does this mean for the tour?
Lucy Spraggan has quit the X Factor it has been confirmed this morning.
The singer songwriter missed last week’s show due to illness and bosses confirmed that she would be given a free pass to this weekend.
However, she wasn’t well enough to attend any rehearsal sessions in the run up to the number one themed show and just minutes ago confirmed that she was ‘gutted’ but would have to leave the competition.
Many fans on Twitter have been asking if this means Jade Ellis, or one of the wildcard acts will be brought back into the competition, but X Factor officials have confirmed to Unreality TV that Spraggan will NOT be replaced and that the final eight acts will continue as normal, competing for the winner’s title and SYCO record deal.
The spokesperson stated:
“Lucy will not be replaced in the competition.”
They also revealed that one act will be voted off the show as normal tomorrow night, adding:
“One act leaves the competition this weekend.”
It has not yet been decided though what Lucy’s departure will mean for the X Factor tour.
Generally the final eight acts remaining on the series land a place on the lucrative string of concerts, which should mean that District 3, Union J, Ella Henderson, Kye Sones, Christopher Maloney, James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas and Rylan Clark will be performing all around the UK in early 2013.
This has not yet been confirmed though and there is still the chance that Lucy could appear. In a previous year Aiden Grimshaw was invited to join the lineup after his elimination due to overwhelming fan support.
