Lucy Spraggan has admitted that she sees Ella Henderson as her main competition on The X Factor.

The singer songwriter made history on last night’s episode of the ITV show, as the first contestant to perform her own song since Chico Slimani showcased Chico Time many moons ago.

The judges raved about her performance, with Nicole Scherzinger gushing:

“Lucy you are such a brilliant storyteller. You are just brilliant in your own spunky honest and witty way.”

Speaking on The Xtra Factor afterwards, Lucy admitted that she loved the experience and while we thought she looked incredibly nervous on stage, she says she enjoyed every second of her appearance.

She told Caroline Flack and Olly Murs:

“It was pretty frantic but I loved it loads.”

Lucy added:

“I was really worried about it at first but when I got out there I just wanted to show people how I was feeling.”

Spraggan seems to have struck up a close friendship with her Team Tulisa pals Ella Henderson and Jade Ellis. However, she knows that it could be one of those girls that pushes her out of the competition.

On who she sees as her main rival, she admitted:

“I think Ella is my main rival, but she’s one of the most lovely people in the world.”

This evening one contestant will be eliminated from the series and though it’s widely accepted that Lucy will be safe and will get at least another week to showcase her new tunes, she is leaving nothing to chance.

She has been tweeting her followers this morning, trying to whip up votes and wrote:

“Thank you everyone who’s voted and still voting! Keep going, I love you! #xfactor”

She also tweeted:

“Yes, I should be sleeping but… Have a think about giving me a cheeky vote? #beerfear tomorrow, yeah?”
