X Factor 2012: Manhunt launched as homeless hopeful Robbie Hance has gone missing #helpfindrobbiehance
As we reported earlier, in tonight’s edition of The X Factor, we’re set to meet Robbie Hance, who absolutely wows the judges and the audience with his rendition of Damien Rice’s hit track, Coconut Skins.
During his pre-audition VT, we’ll hear Robbie reveal that for the last six years, he’s been homeless and sleeps rough in and around London’s Oxford Street area.
However, there’s worrying news from the Mirror today who report that since his audition, Robbie has gone missing, and none of his known associates have any idea where he is.
The paper adds, “Producers sent a team out to scour the streets after losing contact six days ago.”
During his appearance on the show, 26 year old Robbie, who grew up with his single mum in London but was taken into care at 13, said, “Since I was a kid, I stand in the middle of the street and I sing, it’s the every second thought you know?”
He added, “This competition could change my life, definitely.”
Robbie sailed through to Boot Camp following his audition, however, if he isn’t found within a fortnight, his dreams of turning his life round and being a professional singer could be over.
A show insider said, “He’s a fantastic artist and he blew everyone away at auditions.
“He doesn’t have a phone and the only point of contact was through a friend.
“Producers last spoke to him on Monday but they can no longer reach his friend and have no idea where he is. It’s a real worry.
“If he doesn’t get in touch by the end of next week, then he’d have to kiss goodbye to any part in the show, which would be a tragedy.”
As we’ll see tonight, after the judges heard Robbie sing, they all heaped praise upon him. Tulisa told him, “You look like someone that has been lost for a while and I think you need to realise the potential you have and how good you are.”
Louis Walsh said, “I think you are a very talented guy but I don’t think you have had a break in life and I think you absolutely deserve that.”
And Gary Barlow added, “You have got lots of talent and absolutely zero confidence and that is the only thing to work on in my perspective.”
I hope he’s found soon, because of course, quite aside from missing out on a place on The X Factor, he could well be in some very real danger. It’s certainly very worrying that, knowing he was through to the next round, he’s simply vanished.
