X Factor 2012: Manhunt launched as homeless hopeful Robbie Hance has gone missing #helpfindrobbiehance

As we reported earlier, in tonight’s edition of The X Factor, we’re set to meet Robbie Hance, who absolutely wows the judges and the audience with his rendition of Damien Rice’s hit track, Coconut Skins.

During his pre-audition VT, we’ll hear Robbie reveal that for the last six years, he’s been homeless and sleeps rough in and around London’s Oxford Street area.

However, there’s worrying news from the Mirror today who report that since his audition, Robbie has gone missing, and none of his known associates have any idea where he is.

The paper adds, “Producers sent a team out to scour the streets after losing contact six days ago.”

During his appearance on the show, 26 year old Robbie, who grew up with his single mum in London but was taken into care at 13, said, “Since I was a kid, I stand in the middle of the street and I sing, it’s the every second thought you know?”

He added, “This competition could change my life, definitely.”

Robbie sailed through to Boot Camp following his audition, however, if he isn’t found within a fortnight, his dreams of turning his life round and being a professional singer could be over.

A show insider said, “He’s a fantastic artist and he blew everyone away at auditions.

“He doesn’t have a phone and the only point of contact was through a friend.

“Producers last spoke to him on Monday but they can no longer reach his friend and have no idea where he is. It’s a real worry.

“If he doesn’t get in touch by the end of next week, then he’d have to kiss goodbye to any part in the show, which would be a tragedy.”

As we’ll see tonight, after the judges heard Robbie sing, they all heaped praise upon him. Tulisa told him, “You look like someone that has been lost for a while and I think you need to realise the potential you have and how good you are.”

Louis Walsh said, “I think you are a very talented guy but I don’t think you have had a break in life and I think you absolutely deserve that.”

And Gary Barlow added, “You have got lots of talent and absolutely zero confidence and that is the only thing to work on in my perspective.”

I hope he’s found soon, because of course, quite aside from missing out on a place on The X Factor, he could well be in some very real danger. It’s certainly very worrying that, knowing he was through to the next round, he’s simply vanished.

Is anyone actually buying this ? His outfit must’ve cost £180 his guitar was probably another £200 and his completion was immaculate except for the beard. Sorry if I sound skeptical but the truth is we’ve been hoodwinked by Cowell before. It’s just a bit too “sob story” for me to take in. I’m guessing you’ll all hate me for saying it but please, just remember… It’s only tv.

Well, remember, many homeless people have some money, maybe even a job. But a home costs a lot more than a pair of jeans or a guitar. And it’s very possible he didn’t pay for either- you can find clothes at goodwill and the guitar could have been a gift. Nonetheless, knowing that he didn’t have a place to sleep at night, the x factor producers should have provided him with one, or at the very least a phone to contact him. That said, it better be a publicity stunt, or the x factor people are really stupid.

I agree Annie. Like I said, sorry if I come across as not caring, but I remember so many x factor stories that started with heartache and ended up being a sales pitch for the program. If indeed the very beautiful and talented mr hance is missing, I pray for his safe return. I’m not bothered about the auditions as he obviously has more than the required potential to make a very good living singing. I do like this guy and hope he returns to sing again for the benefit of us all but right now, I’m off to a goodwill shop to buy a designer outfit, hat, guitar, face cream and the food and drink to maintain a voice that can get me on to the x factor !!

    Complextion not what autocorrect wrote.

Ps. He can live with me if he really is lost and then found. For free. For life.

praying they find him and he’s not in danger

Me too. I just hope if the story is real that he understands how much talent he has. Now that he has the support of millions of people. I would house him for as long as he needed it. I don’t want the money that I know he could earn. I just think that if the story os real, he needs a hand to hold.

Nope. I’m not gay. But thanks for asking.
