Melanie Masson has admitted that she loved working with Cheryl Cole at X Factor judges houses.

The mum of two was seen on last night’s episode of the ITV show, singing her way through bootcamp and winning a place at judges houses.

She formed part of the overs category and discovered later that week that she would be mentored by Take That star Gary Barlow. When Gary took his final six to an English stately home to whittle them down to just three for the live shows, he brought Chez along to help him with the task.

Mel sang the praises of the Girls Aloud star, telling STV that she was impressed by how warm and kind she was to them.

Masson said:

“She was just lovely. She is so lovely and oh my god, in real life she is beautiful and she’s just gorgeous. She’s like a doll. I can not explain how beautiful and how warm she is. Just a really lovely, down-to-earth girl who just happens to be very talented. She seemed right at home being back on the show.”

The self confessed fairy was also elated to have landed Take That’s Gary as her mentor and despite being happily married, she seems pretty excited to be working with the handsome dad of three.

Mel added:

“He is just lovely and I have to remind everyone that I am happily married lady, but it doesn’t hurt to be mentored by Gary Barlow and he’s very supportive and enthusiastic and he wants us all to do well.

“It’s very exciting to get the opportunity to sing for him and get advice from him and he’s so talented. I like all the judges but I was secretly hoping for Gary cause I think musically he gets me the most.”
