X Factor 2012: Melanie McCabe makes her big comeback tonight – still can’t watch last year’s judges houses show!

Melanie McCabe is all set to make her third appearance on The X Factor audition shows this evening.

The 18 year old singer from Dublin tried out for the ITV show in 2008 but failed to make it to bootcamp, she performed for the judges once more on last year’s series and made it as far as judges houses, before being sent home again, this time by Kelly Rowland in Miami.

This evening, viewers will see the Melanie’s return and before taking to the stage she tells Dermot O’Leary:

“I was so excited last year getting to Miami, I’m from a little town where it’s kind of like just unheard of you know? When I was told that I was going home, I was devastated. I couldn’t even talk to anyone, I came home and my mum just cuddled me and she told me it was going to be ok and I still can’t watch that Judges Houses episode, it just brings back so many memories.”

McCabe added:

“My mum’s just been a complete rock in my life, she’s the only person who stood by me and said it’s ok, I know you’re going to make it you know?”

“When you’ve got a knock back it really pushes you and it makes you stronger. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything so much in my whole life as I do now.”

When the teenager walked on stage, Tulisa immediately recognised her and asked her how it had been, being turned away at such a late stage last year. Mel confessed:

“I was so devastated when I didn’t get through, I cried the whole way home from Miami. I think in the past year I’ve just kind of said to myself no I’m going to come back this year, I’m going to do better.”

She then sang Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel for the panel. They loved everything about it!

JUDGES COMMENTS:

Tulisa: Melanie, your voice is even better, than what I remember from last year. That performance was outstanding, the raw talent that you have is just undeniable, you deserve to be on that stage and I’m so happy that you are there.

Mel B: Well I didn’t know what to expect, you’re this tiny little petite thing with this huge incredible voice, I was like woah where did that come from? You’re a little star in my eyes.

Gary: Melanie I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to see you back here this year and giving a performance like that, it was extraordinary, well done.

Louis: Melanie you were so disappointed last year, I know you were. You’ve done it. I’m emotional because I know you’re from Dublin, what people don’t know is that we know each other and I know you have been through a really tough time and I didn’t know you were going to be this good today, I knew you were going to be good but you were incredible and I am so happy for you.

Tune into the X Factor tonight to see Melanie’s big comeback and in the meantime, watch the video and tell us, do you think she can make the lives shows? Leave your comments below….

She’s awesome! Great talent – I’m glad they are actually showing her sing unlike last year which was a farce.

Well, I don’t get why she is on the main show and Jade Richards and Joe Cox were thrown to the Xtra Factor… I really don’t get it!

She can sing very well, prepared for years, looks great, has a bright personality, no tattoos or piercings, level headed, emotionally stable …. that means …. she never stood a chance on the simon cowell shows.

She tried 3 times and cut all 3. Kudos to this girl. She may cry a bit but under that lovely feminine exterior must be a drive of pure steel.

Melanie is like the thousands of other talented singers dumped on by the perverse simon.
He’s making money with a tv show, not trying to develop musical artists.

Simon has made a fortune with these tv shows.
They filter out many of the talented people so they can get a racially based show.
