X Factor 2012: Nicole Scherzinger was NOT loving MK1′s ‘Glee’ rendition of I Want You Back (VIDEO)

MK1 were literally bubbling with excitement about tonight’s show when we met them in the X Factor studios on Thursday, so we couldn’t wait to see what they had planned for their performance on tonight’s show.

Their mentor Louis Walsh was universally slated last weekend, as viewers and judges alike complained that he didn’t understand their urban style and couldn’t pick the right songs for them to perform.

However, Charlie and Sim told us that they’ve spent the last week teaching ‘Uncle Lou Lou’ some MK1 swag and helping him along in their musical choices. In they end they revealed that they opted for an ‘upbeat’ song, that still relates to the love and heartbreak theme.

The duo took to the stage this evening and gave a rather upbeat version of ‘Want You Back’ by The Jackson Five.

Charlie’s vocals were definitely MUCH stronger than last week and she pulled off her sections very well. Sim’s raps were great but at times it did seem as if he was just talking his way through the track….It was a much better performance than the first and we loved Charlie’s rap at the end but all in all, we once again think Walsh could have chosen a better number.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

Gary Barlow: Good energy, good visuals, vocals a little weak. It’s gone a little too Glee for me this week. Don’t let Louis have too much input into what you do.

Louis Walsh: It;s fun, it’s energetic and Charlie you have the most amazing voice.

Tulisa: Yet again, out of all acts I’ve seen you are having the most fun on stage. I am always drawn to you, always entertained. I love that your putting the urban into Louis but be careful he doens’t take the urban out of you.

Nicole Scherzinger: I’m sorry, I didn’t feel it this week. Realistically I’m thinking is this what’s going to be on your album. I think you would put something with a little more depth. I felt like you were a little out of your element. The rapping was good but I expect so much from you all. Next week I want to see something different.

They’re good – but a bad attitude can kill any artist. Guy needs to learn to take constructive criticism. They’re in a competition and being judged after all.
