Well, if you know your X Factor history, you’ll know that Nando’s was the place where JLS worked before they got their big break. Can 17 year old Sheyi, also an employee of the spicy chicken restaurant chain, have the same luck?

But, being a dedicated chicken salesman, Sheyi takes the time to work out the judges’ favourite flavours. Tulisa confesses her favourite is Mango and Lime, but Sheyi says:

Nah- I think you’re a kind of hot sort of person, you’re looking hot. Louis, you seem like a plain guy.

And aside from that snarky quip about Louis being a plain guy, Sheyi reckons he’s been chatted up by local London popstar Pixie Lott:

Pixie Lott came in once you know, chatted to me, chatted me up a bit. ON Saturday night about 8oclock, my managers like, oh look, there’s Pixie Lott over there! I was like Nah, No way! – she did like me a bit [produces photo of them together]

At least he had proof! But unfortunately, he feels that girls only want him for one thing:

Girls aren’t interested in me. They just get a bit of chicken and then leave me.

For his audition Sheyi had a crack at the old Louis Armstrong classic, What A Wonderful World and also sang Will Young’s Leave Right Now. However, going on the judges’ comments, he could still be working in Nandos at Christmas instead of signing a record contract!

• Nicole Sherzinger: Hi, it’s a wonderful world! I love your personality, kind of a split personality! It’s like Sheyi Armstrong! If we’re doing a Louis Armstrong tribute then there’s potential…
• Tulisa Contostavlos: You go from Camden boy to Cookie Monster in 0.5 seconds!
• Gary Barlow: [in Louis Armstrong voice] I thought it was terrible.  The problem is the work that needs to be done on your voice is surgical work.
• Louis Walsh: Sheyi, we love you, we love your personality but it’s not for the competition.

Will Sheyi make it through to X Factor’s boot camp stages? Will he be following in JLS’s footsteps? Will we find out what Nicole and Gary eat when they go to Nandos? All these exciting questions – and more – will hopefully be answered on tonight’s X Factor!
