X Factor 2012: New ‘Wildcard’ twist will see ditched acts getting the chance to return! Four have ALREADY been chosen!
It’s been reported this morning that in yet another bid to win back viewers to The X Factor, the judges – Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh – have all chosen one ‘Wildcard’ act each from those previously ditched this year.
In this weekend’s X Factor shows, we’ll see each judge putting three acts through to the live shows from the Judges’ Houses round, and the new twist will see them selecting a total of four acts to save.
However, The Sun reveals that in fact, these four Wildcards have already been chosen, though who they are is being kept a secret. The show’s bosses have the Wildcards holed up at the five-star Corinthia Hotel in central London with the other finalists.
A show source said, “We like to add new twists to the show every year and this time the public get to choose an act to be added to the competition…
“With the standard so high this year, the judges had a tough time choosing their three, so this gives another amazing act the chance to perform on the X Factor stage.”
The four wildcards will be unveiled during Sunday night’s X Factor on ITV1, and phone lines will then open for the public to vote for their favourite. Lines will be open until midday on the following Saturday.
The act with the most public votes will then perform along with the other 12 finalists on the first live show on the following Saturday night.
X Factor bosses are also hoping to “spice up” the live shows with appearances from major music biz stars such as US rapper Ne-Yo, pop star Pink and former winner Leona Lewis.
Creative director Brian Friedman is also flying in from Los Angeles to plan the shows and has further “big ideas.”
What do you think of this Wildcard twist? Epic or epic fail?
