X Factor 2012 Results: Ella Henderson ‘James Arthur is the last person I wanted to go up against’
Ella Henderson has admitted that she knew she was in trouble as soon as Dermot O’Leary revealed the X Factor bottom two last night.
The 16 year old singer was eliminated from the ITV show, after going head to head in the singoff with James Arthur. The pair received the least amount of public votes but when the judges drove proceedings to deadlock it was confirmed that Arthur had been slightly more popular and would move on to the Abba / Motown themed quarter final.
Speaking afterwards on The Xtra Factor Ella revealed that James was the ‘last person’ she wanted to face in the sing off and said:
“If I was going to go up against anybody he is the last person I wanted to go up against, for his mega talent and just because he didn’t deserve to be there.”
“He deserves to be in the final. This show just shocks me every time with the bottom two so I wasn’t surprised. ”
Henderson claimed that she knew she was in danger before the show even started, saying that she had a ‘gut feeling’ that she was going to run into trouble.
The Northern lass continued:
“Today I rehearsed my save me song more than ever. I woke up with this gut feeling and it wasn’t a good feeling. All day I’ve had my head down…. you know when it’s going to happen in a really strange way.”
There was quite the uproar when it was revealed that Ella was going home last night, with Matt Cardle, Denise Van Outen and even Simon Cowell expressing their shock on Twitter.
Even Leona lewis was unhappy with the turn of events and tweeted:
“No way should Ella and James be singing against eachother!”
