X Factor 2012: Rylan Clark hits back at Gary Barlow via Chris Maloney, tweeting, “I’d rather be ‘absolute s***’ than sing the same old stuff every week”
As fans of X Factor will know, when Ella Henderson was voted off last weekend, judge Gary Barlow’s lighthearted banter about Rylan Clark turned to anger as he declared Rylan’s performances “absolute s****” and said, “What are we going to do about Rylan?”
Intimating obviously that Rylan shouldn’t still be in the contest when acts such as Ella are leaving – and of course, James Arthur was in the bottom two – Entertainmentwise state that Gary continued, “I might have to be honest on Saturday night and go: ‘Rylan, I thought that was absolute s****’.”
But in response to Gary’s harsh words, Rylan took to Twitter to say, “I’d rather be ‘absolute s***’ than just stand there and sing the same old stuff every week on the spot……. #boreme @GBarlowOfficial.
“And I entered the x factor…. NOT the voice….. Cheers……”
Rylan was of course implying that Gary’s remaining act Chris Maloney is repetitive in his performances each week.
Rylan continued, “I’m a 24 year old normal boy who has auditioned for Xfactor, never come from money, my mother is seriously ill, and not one have I used that.
“As a sob story or a reason to validate my place on the show, I would rather be judged on the reason why I’m actually on the show to sing.”
The remaining five acts will sing two songs each on Saturday as the show continues with an Abba and Motown themed week.
During Sunday’s results show, we’re to be treated to live performances from Rhianna, Bruno Mars and X Factor judge, Tulisa.
