X Factor 2012: Sexy Times Red become the first decent group we see sailing through to bootcamp!
Louis Walsh has already filmed his X Factor judges houses round, yet it was only this evening, in the fourth show of the series, that we got our first glimpse of an actually talented group.
The Irish star will mentor the groups this year and jetted off to Las Vegas last week with Sharon Osbourne, to pick his final four acts for the upcoming live shows. This evening we saw handsome boyband Times Red trying out for the judges in Liverpool and after watching their pretty brilliant audition, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if they also have just returned from an American trip.
The wannabes impressed Geri Halliwell and Tulisa with their looks as much as their singing talent and before they even opened their mouths, the female judges were raving about their physiques, checking out their abs and gushing about the fact that one of them was an Abercrombie & Fitch model.
Thanfully Staz, 20, Scott, 25 and Luke, 24, could sing too and we thoroughly enjoyed their rendition of a mash up of Rehab by Amy Winehouse. It was a great and very alternative version of the much overplayed tune. We loved that the lads played their own instrument an the beatboxing element totally revamped the track.
The judges loved it too and Contostavlos told them they ‘had it all’ with their beatboxing, their guitar playing and all that ‘raw talent.’
Louis Walsh liked the ‘harmonies’ and the buckets of ‘potential’, while Halliwell went a little bit overboard and after telling the lads they were her Favorited of the day she gushed:
‘fantastic, brilliant, absolutely brilliant.’
Gary Barlow thought the performance and the mash up was ‘innovative, creative and musical’ and he teased the boys that the only thing missing was good looks. He was clearly jesting, as you really can’t get much hotter than Times Red.
Gaz added that there was something very ‘special’ about the trio.
Unsurprisingly, Times Red won four yeses from the judges and sailed through to bootcamp. Did you enjoy their performance? Do you think they’re good enough for the live shows? Leave your comments below….
