X Factor 2012: Simon Cowell loves Ella Henderson, Jahmene Douglas, James Arthur – NOT Union J!

Louis Walsh has revealed which acts his boss Simon Cowell favours on The X Factor.

The music mogul is currently in America, presiding over the US version of the singing talent show, but every now and again he casts his eye over the homegrown series.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor Lou Lou admitted that he has been speaking to his old pal and that he already has a few promising acts picked out.

He said:

“Simon is in America and he watched the very first show. He loved Ella and he couldn’t believe Jahmene. I had told him about Jahmene and he said ‘I agree with you he has great potential’.”

On who else shone for Simon, Walsh continued:

“James Arthur, they were the three best for him.”

However, the SYCO boss has failed to pass comment but Louis thinks he knows why.

He is sure that Cowell sees the lads as competition to his act One Direction and doesn’t want to build them up. He insisted:

“He knows Union J are a threat to one Direction so he probably won’t say too much about them.”

That doesn’t actually make a lot of sense to us because, much as Simon is sure to be a huge fan of 1D and the millions of pounds they make him every year, if Union J take off in the same way, he has the option to sign them before any other record label and as a result could be in for a double payload.

We can’t see anything for him to be annoyed about there.

Louis could be overstating this a little!

Ella Henderson topped our X Factor chart last night. Check out who we rated and slated from club classics week here and where we ranked Union J and leave your comments below….

  1. X Factor Viewer says:

If Simon hasn’t noticed that Union J have the biggest social media following worldwide of this year’s acts — and much, much bigger than 1D did until well after their season of XF — he’s a fool.

  2. Really? says:

Misleading title… Simon didn’t say he DISLIKES Union J, he just didn’t mention them at all.

    • Joe Edwards says:

The title doesn’t say that Simon dislikes Union J.

To me, Union J are a copy cat. They even have their own Harry complete with the bouffant hairstyle. Wonder if he likes MILFs too!

      • @Joe Edwards says:

I don’t think you can fault either George or Harry for how their hair grows out of their heads.

Union J are a boy band launched on the X Factor. Aside from that and their hairstyles — which are courtesy the same styling team as 1D — they have very little in common, vocally or aesthetically.

  3. Ghee says:

I think, he can’t let UNION J wins! Bcoz he can’t kick the a**es of the One Direction after he spends a lot of money for them. And, as of now 1D are sucessful and bringing him a lot of money as well. He let, Ella Hernderson win, you know why? He needs someone to rival ADELE in the charts. Bcoz he knew that Adele is bigger than Leona Lewis, now!

    • @Ghee says:

Back in the late 90s, Lou Pearlman managed and produced both NSYNC and Backstreet Boys and fed their rivalry to get greater publicity for both… Cowell could easily benefit the same way from 1D and Union J.

  4. Dan Carney says:

X factor fans cant vote for faves until all acts have sung

  5. Why hello world says:

Cowell likes acts like Ella because he can rebuild them from top to toe, since they are too naive to see they are being used. I would be surprised if Cowell could sincerely like Jahmene, because Jahmene is pure musical quality and Cowell has no musical knowledge. Through all the years I have been listening to Cowell he has never identified the key in which someone is singing. He just sees dollar signs when he hears Jahmene. Cowell likes acts such as James because he is probably the only music exec who can squeeze a profitable album out of them.

  6. Ghee says:

No way! Simon isn’t Pearlman. Just look his other signed Artist. Matt Cardle won, signed at Simon Record label, he didn’t gave enough support for Matt, but for Olly Murs. Simon is a real businessman. He only knew how to make profit. His signed Artist, who don’t bring him enough money, they’re easily fired!
