X Factor 2012 spoilers: Louis Walsh compares GMD3 to JLS in London auditions! (VIDEO)
Just like Britain’s Got Talent with The Mend and The Loveable Rogues, it seems that the X Factor is going to be all about the boybands this year.
We already reported that three piece vocal harmony group Triple J impressed the panel massively when they tried out for the ITV show on Tuesday and now we can reveal that another group stole the show when they sang for the judges recently.
GMD3 consist of three singers – Micky, from Windsor, Greg, from Essex and Dan, from Wales – and the lads were all friends at school when they formed their boyband.
They supported America’s Got Talent star Alexis Jordan on the UK leg of her 2011 Tour and have already built up an impressive following on Facebook and Twitter, where they have 79,000 combined Twitter followers to date
The trio auditioned for Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and guest judge Nicole Scherzinger earlier this year and an audience member told Unreality TV that the male contingent of the panel were very impressed with their version of a classic Beatles song, followed up by a rendition of Boyz 2 Men’s ‘I’ll Make Love To You’…so much so that they gave the band a standing ovation.
Take That star Barlow knows a good boyband when he sees one and told the lads that they were ‘the best boyband to ever audition for the X Factor.’
Louis Walsh – the man behind Boyzone and Westlife – concurred and told the group they have the potential to become the ‘next JLS.’
Some of GMD3′s existing fans are thrilled for their idols and one tweeted:
gary said GMD3 are the best band ever auditioned on x factor, omg.
Another added:
GMD3 are going to do so well in x-factor, they already have a pretty big fan-base
However some supporters aren’t happy that GMD3 could soon be hitting the big time and think the move upwards could distance them from their fanbase. One wrote:
I can’t believe GMD3 went to x factor…they are so talented they don’t need x factor & they’re gonna change
Another complained:
It’s going to be almost impossible to meet gmd3 after their audition is shown on the x factor, boo.
The boys are one of a number of acts to try out for the show who already have a management deal. This year for the first time, those signed to talent agencies or entertainment managers can compete on the show for the winner’s title and the record deal.
The band are currently signed to ‘Primary Wave Talent Management’, who also manage 50 Cent and Cee Lo Green.
