X Factor 2012 Spoilers: Next week’s theme is Love and Heartbreak – Taylor Swift & Rebecca Ferguson to perform

The X Factor is only just finished for the weekend and already the contestants know which theme they will have to comply with next Saturday night.

It was revealed this evening that following on from the ‘Heroes’ theme of the first show, tracks performed in the second will have a slightly slushier vibe, as the show will be Love and Heartbreak themed.

It seems that Louis Walsh is going to spend a bit more time choosing his material for the groups this time round and after he was universally slated for the dated and cheesy songs he picked for MK1, District 3 and Union J last week, the groups revealed on The Xtra Factor tonight that the Irish star hadn’t yet told them what tunes they will be working on for their second performance.

Tulisa Contostavlos has been quicker off the mark though and Lucy Spraggan – who of course showcased her own song ‘Mountains’ on the first live show – told Caroline Flack and Olly Murs that she knows what she will be performing on Saturday but gave them her much perfected ‘death stare’ as they tried to wheedle the secret out of her.

Meanwhile, viewers might be treated to another original composition from James Arthur, as Nicole Scherzinger promised fans this evening that in a bid to preserve the integrity that Gary Barlow is so badly missing, James will be singing one of his own songs on an upcoming show.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that while Louis Walsh claimed Taylor Swift would be performing on last night’s show, the American singing sensation will actually take to the stage on the second results episode of the series.

Also taking to the stage will be former X Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson.

What do you think of the ‘Love and Heartbreak’ theme? Who will shine and who will struggle and does it really matter what theme bosses set since the judges don’t seem to stick to them anyway? Leave your comments below…..

I think MK1′s song was perfect. Agree about the other two boy bands though, they got through on the girly vote alone.

Makes you realise how powerful the girly vote is as even when it’s split in two it’s still powerful enough to get both through!

No doubt Lucy will sing another original song. I’d love to see how she’d cope in movie week!
