Tulisa Contostavlos can barely sneeze these days without it being reported in the newspapers, but it seems that this was not always the case.

The X Factor judge is constantly trailed by photographers and members of the paparazzi since she landed a role on the ITV show and went on to be named the sexiest woman of 2012, however just a few short years ago it is claimed that the brunette beauty was arrested for fleeing the scene of a serious crime, and it never made it into the newspapers.

A biography of the N-Dubz star was serialised in The People this weekend and the author claims that back in 2008, Tulisa and Dappy attended a party for her then boyfriend Adam Bailey, but left abruptly when another party goer was stabbed.

The incident occured after a fight broke out between around twenty guests and not wishing to be caught up in the furore, Contostavlos fled the scene and phoned her manager Jonathan Shalit, to ask what she should do, before she informed the police that someone had been injured.

Tulisa was later arrested by police and had to appear in court, when Bailey was tried for wounding with intent and dangerous driving.

Sean Smith writes in his book that N-Dubz were about to release their debut album and their management did everything in their power to keep the story under wraps.

His book stated:

‘Fortunately, on the night itself, Tulisa had the presence of mind to call Jonathan Shalit and any fallout was well-managed. Incredibly, the arrests of Tulisa and
Bailey never made the papers at the time. That would certainly not happen today when she is a far bigger star.’

Tulisa was caught up in a bad crowd and put herself in some very dangerous situations and Sean also reports that at one point, she thought she and Bailey were going to be shot by some gang members.

The then teenage singer was said to have told a jury:

‘All I heard was, “Where’s the ’ting? Buss it’ (Slang for ‘Where is the gun? Shoot it’).” When I heard that, I thought, “Oh my God, he’s got a gun”.’

After all that madness, we’re not surprised that Tulisa can cope so well with the craziness that surrounds the X Factor.

She will return to it’s panel tomorrow, when auditions hit Newcastle and will be joined by new judge Nicole Scherzinger, as well as Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh.

The tryouts end on June 25th in Cardiff and then it’s onto bootcamp, judges houses and the series will launch once more on ITV1 in August.
