X Factor 2012: Tulisa Contostavlos looks terrified as she sings Titanium and Young in Radio 1 Live Lounge (VIDEO)
Tulisa Contostavlos has been on a non stop promo mission this week, carrying out interviews and public appearances all over London, as she fights to get her debut single to the top of the charts.
The X Factor judge released her first solo song ‘Young’ just days ago and already it looks set to claim the number one spot on Sunday, but just to make sure, the former N-Dubz singer hit the Radio 1 studios today for a bit of a live lounge session.
Looking bright and mismatched in a pair of skintight psychedelic trousers, a bright pink top and florescent yellow shoes, the singer deliverd a stripped back performance of David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’ – as sung by Sophie Griffin on The Voice last week – and an acoustic version of her single.
The one thing that always strikes us about Tulisa when she sings in public, is that she always looks so incredibly nervous doing it. Considering she is a performer by trade, it’s surprising and quite endearing that often, when she’s filmed singing, she looks like she’s about to burst into tears.
When we heard that she had chosen to sing the very current dance track on the radio show, we honestly thought she would murder it. It’s an incredibly difficult track to sing and very demanding vocally, however, as you can hear in the video below she manages it really very well. Who knew that the reality TV star had such a range?
During her interview with Fearne Cotton afterwards, Tulisa admitted that after the departure of Kelly Rowland from the X Factor, she would most like to work with Kanye West on the ITV show.
She said: “Kanye West would be wicked for the panel because he’s opinionated but we’d end up ripping each other’s heads off.”
Now we would pay good money to see that!
However, Contostavlos may not get her wishes granted as many insiders seem convinced that it will be Dannii Minogue who takes Kelly’s seat, when the auditions kick off later this month.
