On tomorrow night’s X Factor episode, Mel B makes her first appearance as a guest judge and boy, does she make a splash.

At one point she was so brutally honest with the contestants in Manchester, that Louis Walsh nicknamed her Scary Spice and our favourite comment made by the no nonsense singer was when she told one very passionate singing hopeful:

‘I am going to give you a big reality check here. You should not be singing. It’s a waste of time for you.’

The contestant wasn’t even that bad!

At yesterday’s press launch, Tulisa was asked if she was upset with Mel for her harsh treatment of the hopefuls, but she laughed and admitted:

‘I love her.’

The blonde beauty added:

‘She always tells the truth so you can’t knock her for it. There are always moments when you’re like ‘did you have to be that honest’ but at the same time she’s telling the truth.’

However, Tulisa acknowledged that perhaps not everyone will feel the same after watching the Spice Girl in action on Saturday night. She continued:

‘You are going to love her or hate her.’

It seems that Louis definitely preferred Mel to her former bandmate Geri Halliwell, who guest judged in Liverpool, as he was very quick to defend her in front of the room full of journalists.

He insisted:

‘We love her. We all loved her. The thing is she’s only saying what people are thinking at home. She’s very honest….that’s why she’s scary spice!’
