Tulisa Contostavlos has been shedding some light on her strategy for this year’s series of The X Factor.

The X Factor judge looked stunning in purple, as she appeared on Daybreak this morning and we loed her newly dyed dark locks.

She joined the judging panel of the ITV show last year and managed to win during her first series with girl group Little Mix.

The former N-Dubz star is hoping she can achieve that glory again, this time with one of the singers from the girls category that she is mentoring and speaking to Lorraine Kelly about how she plans to help Ella Henderson, Lucy Spraggan and Jade Ellis make it to the finals, she revealed that it’s all about making sure they are comfortable on stage.

Tulisa claimed that if the ladies feel awkward, they won’t perform to their highest standard, so she’s there to make sure everything is right on the night for them.

She explained:

“I tell them to be themselves and one thing that I find as well is most important, is to make sure that they are 100% comfortable on stage, so the biggest input that I have, may tactics are to find out if they’re comfortable.”

Contostavlos added:

“Whether it’s from their song choice, the makeup they’ve got on, to what they’re wearing. If they’re not happy then they won’t look happy and the audience are going to know that.”

Yesterday, Gary Barlow revealed that the category he was most worried about, as a threat to the progression of his older contestants was the groups. However Tulisa says that she doesn’t waste her time worrying about other singers.

She insisted:

“Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing, just worry about what you’re doing. They need to stick together as a category.”
